Professional education company Imarticus Learning has acquired Singapore-based BELLS Institute of Higher Learning, marking a significant step in its international expansion strategy. The acquisition brings together two institutions focused on professional education, workforce development and industry aligned skilling, while strengthening Imarticus Learning’s presence across the ASEAN region.
With the deal, the combined organisation will have more than 1,100 employees, operate from over 25 offices across India and Singapore, and serve a learner base exceeding 1.15 million through its combined alumni network.
Expanding Beyond India
Founded by Nikhil Barshikar and Sonya Hooja, Imarticus Learning has built a strong presence in India’s professional education sector, offering programmes across finance, data science, analytics, technology, executive education, corporate learning and government skilling initiatives.
The acquisition of BELLS Institute marks the company’s entry into Singapore’s established workforce development ecosystem, giving it access to a broader international market and deeper enterprise partnerships.
BELLS Brings Strong Government and Enterprise Network
BELLS Institute has trained more than 150,000 learners and operates seven training centres across Singapore. It also collaborates with SkillsFuture Singapore, the Singapore government and several enterprise clients on workforce development and professional training programmes.
The acquisition strengthens Imarticus Learning’s capabilities in enterprise learning, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, technology training and workforce development, while providing access to long-standing institutional relationships in Singapore.
Greater Opportunities for Learners
According to the company, the combined platform will create new learning and career opportunities across India and Southeast Asia.
Indian learners will gain access to Singapore exchange programmes and career pathways across ASEAN, while learners in Singapore will be able to enrol in Imarticus Learning’s programmes spanning finance, technology, analytics and data science.
The company believes the cross-border model will help professionals build globally relevant skills while improving employability across multiple markets.
Focus on AI and Future Skills
Following the acquisition, the combined entity plans to introduce a broader portfolio of programmes focused on emerging technologies and workforce transformation.
The curriculum will include courses in:
- AI literacy
- Applied machine learning
- AI for finance and fintech
- AI-enabled business transformation
According to the company, these programmes will be developed alongside industry partners and aligned with evolving employer requirements across India, Singapore and the wider ASEAN region.
