Why Did MoEngage Acquire Aampe?

Customer engagement platform MoEngage has acquired San Francisco based AI startup Aampe in a strategic move aimed at strengthening its artificial intelligence and customer personalization capabilities. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition comes just six months after MoEngage expanded its Series F funding round to $280 million. The company had secured an additional $180 million from investors including ChrysCapital, Dragon Funds, and Schroders Capital, building on the $100 million it raised in November 2025.

The deal reflects MoEngage’s growing focus on AI-powered customer engagement as brands increasingly seek personalized experiences across digital channels.

What Does Aampe Bring To MoEngage?

Founded in 2020, Aampe specializes in AI infrastructure that assigns a dedicated autonomous agent to every user. These AI agents make individualized decisions regarding content, timing, communication channels, and messaging frequency.

The platform leverages reinforcement learning and agentic AI to continuously optimize customer interactions based on user behavior and engagement patterns.

According to the company, its technology currently runs hundreds of millions of AI agents and processes more than 200 billion decisions every week, enabling brands to deliver highly personalized customer experiences at scale.

Who Backed Aampe Before The Acquisition?

Aampe was backed by prominent venture capital firms including Peak XV Partners and Z47.

The startup raised a total of $27 million during its journey, including an $18 million Series A funding round led by Theory Ventures in December 2024.

The company’s rapid growth and advanced AI capabilities helped it attract a strong customer base across multiple markets and industries.

MoEngage plans to integrate Aampe’s reinforcement learning and agentic decision-making technology directly into its customer engagement platform.

Aampe currently serves several high-profile customers, including Grab, Swiggy, ZenBusiness, and Taxfix.
