Omnichannel Gifting Brand Plans Expansion, Acquisitions, and Profitability Boost Ahead of Public Listing
Ferns N Petals (FNP), one of India’s leading omnichannel gifting and floral retail companies, is preparing for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) by the end of 2028 as it accelerates expansion across India and international markets.
According to Reuters, the Lighthouse-backed company plans to use the IPO proceeds to fund business expansion and pursue acquisitions in the gifting space. Alongside its listing ambitions, FNP is targeting an annual revenue growth of around 25% over the next few years while also improving profitability.
The planned public offering marks the next phase in the company’s long-term growth strategy as it strengthens its retail network, expands internationally, and broadens its portfolio of gifting brands.
IPO to Fund Expansion and Acquisitions
Speaking to Reuters, Global CEO Pawan Gadia said the company intends to go public by the end of 2028, subject to market conditions.
The funds raised through the IPO are expected to support:
- Expansion of the company’s retail and digital businesses.
- Strategic acquisitions in the gifting segment.
- Strengthening of operations across domestic and international markets.
The company sees acquisitions as an important driver for broadening its product offerings and increasing its presence in India’s growing gifting industry.
Revenue Grows 25% in FY26
FNP reported ₹1,085 crore in revenue during FY26, registering a 25% year-on-year growth.
Alongside revenue expansion, the company is placing greater emphasis on profitability.
According to management, FNP expects its core earnings (EBITDA) margin to improve to 5–6% during the current financial year, compared with 2.5% in the previous fiscal.
The focus on improving operating efficiency comes as the company prepares for a future public market listing, where sustainable profitability is increasingly valued by investors.
Building a Strong Omnichannel Gifting Business
Founded in 1994, Ferns N Petals has evolved from a flower retailer into a comprehensive omnichannel gifting platform.
The company offers a wide range of products, including:
- Flowers
- Cakes
- Personalised gifts
- Festive hampers
- Special occasion gifting solutions
Customers can shop through the company’s website, mobile platform, third-party e-commerce marketplaces, company-owned stores, and franchise outlets.
This diversified omnichannel approach enables FNP to serve customers across both online and offline channels.
International Expansion Continues
FNP currently operates in multiple international markets, including:
- India
- United Arab Emirates (UAE)
- Singapore
- Saudi Arabia
- Qatar
India contributes nearly 55% of the company’s overall revenue, making it its largest market.
As part of its next growth phase, the company plans to expand into Malaysia and additional countries across the Gulf region, strengthening its international footprint.
Management believes these markets present attractive opportunities due to rising demand for organised gifting and celebration services.
Retail Network to Reach 350 Stores
FNP is also expanding its physical retail presence.
The company plans to increase its store count from approximately 280 outlets today to 350 stores by FY28.
Its retail strategy includes:
- Opening more company-owned stores in metropolitan cities.
- Expanding through a franchise-led model in Tier-2 and Tier-3 towns.
This hybrid expansion model is expected to improve market penetration while maintaining capital efficiency.
Diverse Business Portfolio
Beyond its core gifting business, Ferns N Petals has diversified into related sectors.
The company also operates:
- Udman Hotels
- FNP Weddings & Events
These businesses complement the company’s gifting ecosystem by serving customers across celebrations, hospitality, weddings, and special occasions.
To date, FNP has raised approximately $27 million in funding, with Lighthouse among its prominent investors.
The company competes with organised gifting platforms such as IGP (Indian Gifts Portal), FlowerAura, Winni, and Archies.
Outlook
Ferns N Petals’ planned IPO reflects the growing maturity of India’s organised gifting industry.
With consistent revenue growth, expanding profitability, an increasing retail footprint, and international expansion plans, the company is positioning itself for long-term sustainable growth ahead of its proposed public listing.
If the company successfully delivers on its expansion strategy and financial targets, the 2028 IPO could become one of the notable public offerings in India’s consumer retail and gifting sector.
